Pools & Spas

Northeast Tri County Health District (NETCHD) regulates water quality and safety features for public pools and spas. Routine inspections are performed at parks, hotels and community pools, in Ferry, Pend Oreille and Stevens Counties.

Routine Inspections

Routine Inspections include:

  • Ensuring proper pool or spa chemistry is maintained
  • Proper safety equipment is present
  • Proper construction to reduce accidents
  • Proper pool surveillance and doors, gates, and enclosures are present to prevent unsupervised entry by minors

Further Responsibilities

Along with routine inspections, NETCHD also is responsible for:

  • Permitting public swimming pools and spas
  • Responding to complaints at water recreation facilities
