About Northeast Tri County Health District

Mission

Northeast Tri County Health District (NETCHD) works with other entities to assess, protect, preserve, and promote the health of the tri county area and establishes local policy relating to population based services in Ferry, Pend Oreille, and Stevens Counties.

Services

A variety of preventative services are provided to the residents of Ferry, Pend Oreille, and Stevens Counties by public health staff. The programs and services are delivered by:

  • Education
  • Epidemiology or investigation activities
  • Intervention
  • Preventative action
  • Screening

Other services are designed to prevent disease or illness from environmental sources such as:

  • Food
  • Sewage and vectors
  • Solid waste
  • Water

In addition to conducting routine inspections and issuing permits, staff also respond to complaints and provide technical assistance to local residents in a variety of areas where environmental factors may affect the public.
